Guest guest
Okay, after almost 8 years on the diet, my son Ben (10, athetoid cp, etc.) has started having szs again. He seems to be having them about every two months, although I know that doesn't sound like much to some of you. The diet has been a Godsend. Ben's seizures were status that lasted 45 minutes plus many times. Now his szs last anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes, many times we have to intervene with Diastat. Ben is presently on a ratio of 2.2:1 with calories at about 1800. He has finally gained a little weight with his weight staying at about 56 pounds for two years and he is now at almost 60 pounds, with an increase in calories about two months ago. I am a little baffled although part of this could be early puberty, or maybe the results of a post-cold virus, or just plain fatigue from the holidays. What are any of your thoughts on this. I sure would appreciate it. My neuro said that after all these years, it may be time to add a med to mix (probably Keppra since it is more keto-friendly). She is a full supporter of the diet (studied with Dr. Freeman). Anne
