Guest guest
I also had an Organic Acids Test done, Uric Acid random test, Casein/Gluten antibody test, and gravely lacking in knowledge to interpret on my own. If this is relevent I don't know, but our son had a GSDL food allergy panel done and gluten and casein showed no problem. Yet our doctor told us that our son was still susceptible to negative reactions to dairy and grain consumption due to the opioid effect that gluten and casein have. =======================================================

You know, my sons showed that those levels were within normal range too. The small interpretation states to have the IgG food allergy testing done before adopting a diet containing gluten and/or casein. ( I thought that this test would be telling of the opioid effect that I read about, but I guess its not, I don't know ) Carie > > ======================================================= >

Guest guest
Yesterday I had our initial consultation with a DAN! doctor here in San Diego. I remember reading your question regarding the succinylpurine test, and since my son was high as well I was sure to ask him about it. He told me (as it is written on the Great Plains Lab report) that if the test comes back high, then a 24 hour urine test needs to be done (to collect urine over a 24 hour period). If it still comes back high, then he has a genetic deficiency in the enzyme that is needed for succinylpurines (or something like that). If that is the case, on the lab report you will see a number for a research in San Diego for this. He said that the enzymes are $1000 per month, but if your are part of the study, you would probably be provided with them. He said, however, he hasn't had success getting through. The bottom line is that he would have to have a 24 hour test done first because if, for example, he drinks lots of apple juice, he might have high levels sometimes. Have you called Great Plains for a consultation with the biochemist? I would also find a doctor on the DAN! list and try to have a phone consultation and fax him your results if you are so far away from everyone. I don't know if this helps or if it was confusing. Good Luck. > I hade this succinylpurine test done on my son (7) and the result > says: succinylpurine 274, creatinine mg/dl 185, Ratio: 0.15, and > Normal ratio mmol/g <0.2 This was done at Great Plains Laboratory. > I'm finding it hard to understand what this means...has anyone else > had this done for their child. > > I also had an Organic Acids Test done, Uric Acid random test, > Casein/Gluten antibody test, and gravely lacking in knowledge to > interpret on my own. > > I've checked, there is no one within a 100 mile radius around my home > in TN that knows what the hell I'm talking about. > > Thank you for any response > Carie
Guest guest
, Not sure which part of TN you're in, I'm in AL and have been going to a DAN Dr. in Montgomery. I know it may be bit of a drive but well worth your time. His name is Dr. Corbier...he is a pediatric neurologist who specializes in epilepsy and autism. His office number is (334)647-3000. My son is begining the chelation process this weekend. We're keeping our fingers crossed. Good luck. ldegarci <ldegarci@...> wrote: Yesterday I had our initial consultation with a DAN! doctor here in San Diego.
