Guest guest
Hi , 2 weeks is the approx time frame it took for to become toxic on his meds after starting the diet. He had daytime control almost straight away, then gradually lost it after about 12-14 days, seizures escalated and he got v bad. We took a punt based on experiences here, reduced lamictal by a big chunk, intervened with one shot of diaz 5 days after the reduction, and got control back. Prior to the reduction, any intervening meds during that period only made him worse - our sign that toxicity was the problem. And yes, intially his worst seizures came as his lamictal doses peaked, then everything got so out of hand any timing went out the window. He was on 3 meds at the time, but we 'picked' lamical as he was showing more side effects of this drug at the same time as seizures increased - more extremity 'twitching', sleepnessness etc. FYI, his lead neuro wanted to increase the med instead, which looking back would probably have meant we would never have got control back, and given up on the diet.
