<<but they're constantly reminding me about the

recurrence risk for me of preterm labor because, although my septum

is gone, my uterine wall/lining still " acts " like a mullarian anomaly

uterus does... subject to early contractions. They've already told me

that I'll be put on bedrest early on (at 20 wks) just to exercise

caution. I'll do whatever it takes... but I'm just looking for some

support from those of you who've been in my shoes before and who've

delivered successfully.>>

*Surfacing for the first time in weeks* :-)

,

I know how godawful scary it is the second time around, although my loss was

at 19 weeks and my cervix gave way, secondary to SU. I'm fairly sure that

my problems with contractions came from the cerclage I had, and not my

septum, which was still largely intact, mind you! (I had a hole cut through

the middle segment of it). I think the septoplasty actually quieted down my

uterus. For one thing, my horrendous menstrual cramps vanished after the

first surgery, and for another, I had very little cramping in the first

weeks of my successful pregnancy.

I had the cerclage at 11 weeks and started getting frequent contractions at

the end of 18 weeks, right about when I lost my first DS. I was a basket

case, got on terbutaline, went for several US, and so forth. By about 21

weeks I realized that all the contractions were not in fact changing my

cervix and not tending into PTL, so I relaxed, I guess, but not truly so

until I got past 28 weeks.

My advice to you is to take it one day at a time, rest and drink water

religiously. Let nothing come before staying calm, hydrated and rested for

your baby. And don't be afraid to ring your OB for a scan, for reassurance,

or whatever.

Best wishes to you. Glad to see the good news on this list, too :-)
