Jocelyn,

I don't know much about the shape of the sac. I just wanted to send

you a big hug during this difficult time. I will pray for that

heartbeat to stay strong and that all of this other disconcerting

news is wrong. What is your drs plan right now?...to just wait and

see? Will you have another u/s soon.

Keeping you and baby in my thoughts,

Sara

Jocelyn,

I had a similar experience, and I think I even posted the US in " Our

Ultrasounds. " I was 7w2d along and the embryo measured 4 mm. We saw

no yolk sac but the OB thought that she saw a slow heartbeat. I

could not see it myself, and thought that the sac looked shriveled

and wrinkled compared to an earlier healthy pregnancy had at 7w1d. I

was told to come back one week later, and at 8w2d the sac had

shrunk. The fetal pole measured 5 mm and showed no heartbeat. That

is the US I posted. I miscarried naturally at 11w5d.

So the scalloped, shriveled nature of the sac, the small-for-dates

embryo and the iffy, then absent heartbeat were not good signs in my

case.

I'm sorry to have such a bummer comparison for you. Hopefully you

will not have to go through another miscarriage.

Hugs,

Beth

Hi Jocelyn...I'm with Sara and just want to send " keep beating heart "

vibes to you and the baby. With both of my m/c's they never said

anything was irregular during the u/s they noticed there was " no

cardiac activity " (I'll hate those 3 words for the rest of my life).

Although after my 1st D & C they thought it looked weird and sent if

off to be tested to see if it was a molar pregnancy, which thankfully

it was not. Hang in there, I know how stressful this is...Keep

thinking positive thoughts!!

Hugs-

carol

Jocelyn,

Seeing a heart beat at 6 weeks is a very good sign. The chance of a m/c

after a heart beat goes down dramaticly to about 5%. I am sending you baby

dust. - Liz
