Actually, with the ultrasound, my doctor thought I had a kidney cyst since it was so close to my left kidney. Apparently, the tests cannot distinguish between a cyst and a tumor. They didn't know it was a tumor until the surgeon went in. What I would suggest you do is call your PCP and tell them you want a copy of your ultrasound and CT radiology reports. When they do these tests, the radiologist writes a report to send/fax to your doctor. If they won't send you the report, you can always check out your x-rays from the hospital which will include the radiologist report inside with the x-rays. That report includes exactly what they think it is and what size it is. I always request a copy of my test results to keep in my personal file because they don't always tell you exactly like it is. If you decide to check out your x-rays from the hospital, you will have to tell them you need them for a second opinion from another doctor. When you get the x-rays, make a copy of the report to keep for yourself before returning them to the hospital. You have a right to all copies of your test results whether it's x-rays or lab work. Hope this helps....call the doctor's office today and tell them you want copies and you will pick them up today and all your questions will be answered in the reports. If that fails, call the hospital and tell them you need to pick up your ultrasound and CT x-rays today. Either way, you will know exactly what the radiologist saw in your x-rays. What they told you does sound strange and if I were you, I would want to know. Let me know what you find out. Hugs & Prayers, Carole
