A Metro Atlanta mother is calling into question the results of a new

study that suggests there is no link between childhood vaccines and autism.

The study published by the American Academy of Pediatrics examined more

than 140,000 children and found no consistent evidence that vaccines

containing mercury contribute to development disorders, like autism or ADHD.

Lyn Redwood of Fayette County, whose son was diagnosed with autism years

ago, claims data used for the study was manipulated to achieve the

researchers' desired result.

Redwood is the president of SafeMinds, a national nonprofit organization

that is dedicated to informing parents of the dangers posed by

mercury-contaminated pediatric vaccines.

She is also running unopposed Tuesday for a seat on the Tyrone City

Council.
