Kathy, my wife and I second Kristi's eloquent response to you. WHEN you

become a parent to your own child, please look for this book: The

Long-Awaited Stork: A Guide to Parenting After Infertility by Ellen Sarasohn

Glazer. (Admittedly, it was helpful to us in processing our own grief at

not have a biological child.)

In our experience, through our adoptive process and now bio pregnancy, there

were times over and over that we just didn't quite " believe it " . It is

somewhat hard to explain, but when over and over we had seen the pregnancy

test be negative, you become conditioned to something NOT working out,

rather than maintaining hope that it will . . . albeit eventually. Through

the process of getting paperwork together for the adoption there were times

when we wondered whether it was really going to happen or not. And believe

me, there are plenty of chances for paperwork to be delayed, etc. Then when

we became bio pg, there were still those times when it was hard to believe

(even after an ultrasound!).

Be gentle with yourself in this new year.

DW: Dena, UD and 14 weeks tomorrow

DD: waiting on info from China in June (?)

DDogs: Lucy and Walter
