(pg ment ...sooooooooo tired) Hi guys, Another emergency trip into my doc's office ... everything's fine tho. I've been having menstrual-like cramping the last few days, but got nervous when it woke me out of a sound sleep last night. I tried shifting positions, gentle stretching and walking around, but it didn't get better. Then I noticed it was spiking in intensity every 10 minutes, so I paged the on-call dingbat. You can guess where this is going. After 40 minutes she calls me back, doesn't listen to a word I say and says, " Oh that's normal, honey. " Its normal to wake up in severe plevic floor pain, radiating to my thighs that increases with intensity? I reminded her I was prone to pre-term labor, etc and she said, " Well we can't detect contractions at 16 wks anyways. " Gritting my teeth I asked what would happen if I came in (mind you, its 2:45am at this point) and she was like, " Well, you'd see me. " Riiiight. I want to drive for a half hour to go see this dingbat? The pain had stopped spiking and was just really really crampy at this point (a couple hours in now) so I decided to wait until morning to see my OWN doc who ISN'T a dingbat unless it got worse again (insert massive 3am fight with DH here - idiotburger). Well, my doc was lovely and squeezed me righ in. The spiking hadn't come back and was just a bad ache. They can't explain it, except to say that I'm fine, baby's fine, placenta's fine and cervix is nice and long. We did get to see a LOVELY u/s of baby literally jumping up and down on my cervix, but he didn't think that would cause the kind of pain I'm having. No joke ... baby was floating down to it, kicking off violently and floating down again over and over. I was cracking up ( " hahahOW!hahahOW!):-) Anywho, I'm ok and will see the doc again in two weeks. AND it's a girl!!! Woo hoo!!! I hope everyone is doing well... I'm pooped! 16wks something ... too danged tired to count PS ... Beth, how did you convince your docs you were having contrax? I laid awake last night in horror that I was going through what you went through but not knowing how to make sure I got the appropriate care.
