I'm glad they did the study as I used to think that all I had to do to lower my

BS was just run it off. But that hasn't worked despite jogging 3 times a week

and avg 3 miles or so per trip for the last 6 months. For many years before

that I routinely made it to the Y 2 to 3 times a week. consequently, I've had to

test and really watch my diet in order to get BS somewhat in control. Of course,

my doctor fusses at me big time for not taking the meds she has prescribed.

(last months A1C 7.6)

I guess now there is hope thanks to this study. The question is how am I going

to go jog 3+ miles a day ~ 6 days a week? That's a lot of exercise!!

From the article ~

" Our ultimate goal is to determine how much exercise does someone need to

achieve the maximum beneficial health effects. The prevailing advice seems to be

just do something, anything. I think we can do better than that and come up with

exercise guidelines or recommendations that are actually based on concrete data.

We still do not have good data on how often and at what intensity is ideal for

reducing the chances of developing diabetes or heart disease. "
