(I'm not into worrying MORE though LOL-- just more effectively I'm in favor of worrying WELL but only a LITTLE BIT....... ) If you (or anyone) has ideas on this I'd like to hear them. I have very limited time/energy for researching, but might include some of the ideas in a new FILE that I've had 1/2 written for weeks (about the risks of chelation, always a popular topic ...) What I can think of is: -- read all research on DMSA -- maybe look at research on drugs with similar structure? That is all I can think of Not very good! Doing new research is prohibitive and takes a loooooooong time if you want long term effects. (Also for longer term it is more and more unclear if/how DMSA is connected to effects.) What else?? And on the liver toxicity issue, I just think everyone should do a ton of liver-support and liver-detox and then have a really healthy liver. At least I think this is a " better " option than worrying about negative effect on liver. good wishes, Moria
Guest guest
Hi OC, we chelated our son with DMSA/DMSA+ALA for almost 2 years now. Recently we had to fix his teeth. We decided to do it without general anestesia, and it required 5 appointments with dentist half an hour each. It's his first dental work. I never chelated my daughter, but her teeth at this age were worse. I can explain it with the fact that she drank a lot of juice from the bottle. So, from my experience, DMSA can affect teeth badly, but juice affects them even worse. Margaret > > > > > Thanks for the heads up. Guest guest
Hi Moria, Thanks for the comic relief. I've been finding all new ways to stress out lately. I tried doing " research " on DMSA's effect on teeth and predictably was not too successful since teeth beget mercury (fillings) , which beget concern and eventual chelation, so net/net there's plenty of discussion on keywords DMSA, Teeth........but nothing related to damage to teeth, just chelation of toxic metals. Ok.......switch to keywords DMSA, bone..........same deal except now every article wants to talk about lead........LOL. Try DMSA, cancer (cringe)........ditto..........articles all want to talk about effects of heavy metals and possible causation of cancer. Try keyword " long term effects of dmsa " http://www.google.com/search?hl=en & lr= & ie=UTF-8 & oe=UTF-8 & q=%22long+term+effects+\ of+dmsa%22 and you are led (no pun intended) back to our happy group and another unanswered question. I've only been a member of this list about 8 or 9 months Moria. I can't tell whether it's such a hackneyed subject that no one can force themselves to type out the answer or......It's unknown........or........it's unknown and unpleasant to think about, so let's not discuss it.
