Guest guest
e, It seems this is quite common among some mito kids when they are first tube fed. My ped explains it as these children, calorie needs differ greatly from the norm, and so they often do not require the calorie intake initially recommended for a child of their age, Gaby also 'blew up' like a balloon when we first started tube feeds, We make sure she has adequate vitamin and protein intake but really cut back on calories. Gaby is now on the ketogenic diet, which also had to be adjusted greatly to prevent rapid weight gain. It took some juggling, but with the help and understanding of our Dr and dietician, we soon sorted it out. Good luck ne mum to Gaby PDH in Australia.
