Guest guest
Don't know if this has been posted before... A friend told me about another possible source of funding for our kids. The Muscular Dystrophy Family Foundation, Inc., helps pay for things like braces, wheelchairs, lifts for vans, hospital beds, respiratory equipment, and modifications to bathrooms. It also assists with funeral costs. Sounds like services are not limited to this list, so if you have some other need, it's probably worth asking. Assistance is on a sliding scale depending on income and must come after other avenues have been tried--like insurance, Medicaid, and MDA. BTW, MDFF is not associated with MDA. It's my understanding that it was established to assist families with some of the needs that MDA doesn't address. " Mitochondrial myopathy " is one of the conditions which qualifies kids for help from MDFF. For more info, go to www.mdff.org or call Beth at . -- Mom to: Emilie (16), mito--complex IV, cp, ld Kaitlin (16), cp, asthma, a few autonomic symptoms Ian (20) migraines ....and wife to Tim, who has a heart of gold
