I have a question for all of you.his may be totally off the wall but when you

get desperate you start thinking of anything! A friend of mine has HIV and he

takes Sesteva(sp?).It is one of the only drugs that gets into your brain when

treating HIV.His infectious disease doctor told him that it will " kill

" anything that is not supposed to be in your brain.Like HIV,etc. It is supposed

to

help with brain lesions, etc.WOuld this help with autism in the sense that it

would rid the brain of heavy metals? The drug is supposed to change the make up

of

the HIV cells and rid it out of the body.It attaches tself to the HIV cells.I

know that this is out there but I thought I would mention it.Thanks,ne

viruses and heavy metals are quite different. " Killing " something and moving it

out are also different.

Just my opinion, but Im leary of any treatment that wants to put my child on

more drugs. Wasnt it the drugs that are injuring these children in the first

place.

Hi,

Have you heard of ? It stands for Neuroimmune Deficiency

Syndrome www..net. It theorizes that some children with autism

don't actually have autism at all, but a " brain virus " which can be

treated with antifungals, antiviral drugs and SSRI medication. I

have been researching this, because its theory seems to fit my oldest

son who has not be greatly helped by diet, supplements and

chelation. However, I am not done investigating other biomedical

interventions such as secretin, bioset(allergy elimination)and

natural alternatives to the above mentioned inerventions.

Yes,

I am not a fan of drugs either. As I said, I am investigating all

Biomedical or homopathic options before this, but I don't want to

miss something that might of helped. I am simply investigating the

possibility, desperate to help my son. I have introduced Kirkman's

ALA to see if that will help, as DSMA alone has not helped enough.

For what it's worth, we went the anti-viral, anti-fungal and SSRI route (w/

Dr. Goldberg) for close to two years and it did nothing but drain our

checkbook. I think the brain virus theory may have some merit, but it's only

part of

the equation, if at all.

Dear Catagan,

It sounds like you have the tools with which to start working out, so that part of your battle is already out of the way. That's great! It's also great that you have an idea of what you would like to look like when you reach your goal - not skinny by any means, but strong, fit, and muscular.I would do cardio to shed instant calories 5 - 6 times a week for at least 40 minutes at a shot. You can't spot reduce, unfortunately, you lose weight all over. I'd supplement this with weight lifting 4 times a week to get the barbarian strength and definition you desire.

You can still be on the heavy side and be very fit. That would describe me, actually! I'm at 170, shooting for 120-130. I am also curvy.

Best wishes,

I think lifting heavier weights and doing less reps will keep you "warrior-like."
