There was an article in the VRP newsletter about using this for Alzheimers.

A search found this used in a trial for kids with ADD and executive

functioning deficits with some promising results:

Galantamine is also known as reminyl and is OTC--and pricey--about $1.00 per

pill.

Has anyone tried this? What results or side effects?

Thanks,

mary

These are more for confusion and memory problems than for attention.

I thought it sounded interesting--my son definitely has memory and executive

functioning issues. Here's the cite:

ADHD Symptoms Respond To Cholinergic Drugs Lehmann " Pilot studies of

cholinergic agents suggest that they may be effective intreating children

diagnosed with ADHD and deficits in executive function.Galantamine was the most

promising one " For full story see: .<A

What if the child's main problem is confusion and memory? Is it then

safe? What supplements may help correct this?

I don't know about safe, but worth a try. Galantamine, huperizine A,

choline, DMAE, phosphatidylcholine, TMG.
