Guest guest
> will be extra tired too from all that listening in a loud environment. > Good practice for the future, I guess. , i hope all goes well for at the pre-school. I was taken by surprise at just how tired Dominic was when he started pre-school. He had been in the same nursery since he was 8 months old and used to the long days (sometimes 8.30am-6pm). The acoustics are much better in the pre-school room. But there is a lot of the more formal 'learning' to do (letters, numbers etc) and no nap during the day. In fact, he was so tired, that i reduced his attendance there to 3 days a week instead of 5. It's now 3 months later and he's getting more used to the new schedule, but he still goes to bed very early (7.30 rather than 10.30!) and willingly. I hadn't realised how tiring it can be. He has great fun at nursery, though, learns lots and lots of stuff, good social skills etc. Very ocasionally he even brings home a new word (such as 'put it back' - he must have had plenty of exposure to that one!). Best wishes for 's transition. Cristina mum to Dominic (3, prof deaf, HAs)
