I will be praying, still and standing by. As one who has been there, done that, I know how it feels,

and I wish I could take the stress off of you...will pray for that, and a happy outcome for you all.

Loving hugs, MM

Guess what? We got a call about an hour ago, it was like 9:00 at night, from the gardian at leidem for the boys. She said that she thinks we should contact our licensing worker Monday asap and request the foster care support group to send a lawyer to court on our behalf. I guess there are several new laws on the books right now that are protecting kids from this very thing happening. One is that cps can no longer just come in and change a childs placement after a year. They have to go through lengthy steps. The other is that after a year the foster family is the first in line to adopt, not the last and that would be over friends and family members of the parents. We are fully prepared to go to the media with this case as well as the other infant in our home. Someone needs to step up and blow the whistle on what is happening to our children, and it might as well be us as I have a big dang mouth when someone is messing with one of my chicks!!

a C., You go, girl, and if you need letters of support from other adoptive parents of special kids,

just let me know. I knew we had new laws out here in CA, but I am not familiar with the laws in other

states for this kind of thing. The whole reason I have children of color is that they made it against

the law for social workers to abruptly move a foster child after six months just because of color...

disability, or religion. They could no longer accuse me of adopting just to get black slaves. Oh,

yeah, I was accused of that by a black social worker who was quoted in Jet Magazine as saying, "We

would rather see black children INSTITUTIONALIZED than placed in white homes." This was brought

to us by the same supervising adoptions worker who, before he had ever seen me, presented me

with the Adoptive Parent of the Year award from the Black Social Workers Assoc. in San Francisco.

It was presented in absentia, because I had promised to take my kids to a school event that day. So,

a friend from the adoption agency where I did my homestudies went to accept the award for me. She took a life sized poster of me and my kids, this big, fat, farty old white woman surrounded by

three little black kids and one teenaged black girl, and unrolled it on the stage so the audience could

see who they had voted Parent of the Year. I sure wish I could have been there to see that guy's face when she did that. She told me later that his jaw hit the floor!

I will pray extra hard that you are triumphant, and that those babies remain in your care. And, I am

serious, honey, if you need letters, just let me know. Loving hugs, MM

Thanks MM. I am going to have a meeting with our licencing worker on Monday and I will ask her about that. I am also contacting the foster care support system in our area and also we found out that the judge on our case who so far has ruled largely in our favor is having a baby soon, so hopefully she can hold out until March when we have the next court date.

a C., I think that judge needs her head examined to have kept you all waiting this long and dithering around. After all, SHE should be up to date on new laws like the ones that your friend is

telling you to check out with the worker. Where has that judge been the last six months?

Sorry, but I really get my knickers in a twist over this kind of crap. You let me know, I'm here for you.

Hi a C.

I'm so sorry to hear of all the problems you are having right now

with the courts! It's not right when all a person wants to do is love

a child and some dumb court gets in the way! Do you think they

really have the child's best interest in mind? NOT! Think positive

a! It will work out for the best.....

Love,

Karol
