Guest guest
Well I know it's a little early to be shouting from the rooftops but I had to share my first SB victory. I spent from last night at 6pm until a little while ago at a friend's house. I ended up bringing all my own food. I decided that I wouldn't leave anything to chance ! When I got home I did my blood sugar test and 2 hrs after lunch it was 105 ! For those of you who know what that means you know how elated I am ! The dietician - Diabetes Center educator - recommended that I start with phase 2 so I decided to add just 2 - 3 acceptable phase 2 foods per day so I can see what they will do to my sugar level. I had cottage cheese and a salad for lunch and the salad had 1 cup of STRAWBERRIES sliced into it ! I know that the reason the fruit didn't have more of an effect on my sugar level is because I ate it with a good amount of lo fat protein which slowed my body's processing of the sugar in the berries. It's so cool ! It's like a light went off in my head and for the first time I felt like I could manage my sugar levels. I am already sold on SB. Just let anyone try to talk me out of it ! Thanks to all of you for your support and advice : ) Ginny
