Guest guest
So... today I'm trying to listen to my body and respond appropriately. I'm on day two of a heavy flow, and I'm feeling weak, jittery, and fatigued. I also have a throbbing headache behind my eyes. I tend to get anemic frequently, so I took my iron supplement, chlorella (a supplement that balances my blood sugar), filled my 2 L drinking water bottle, and am eating something. That " something " I'm eating is not satisfying at all and I'm struggling with the whole waste-not thing I've always adhered to. :-/ I accidentally overcooked the pasta, but the pesto, feta, and sundried tomatoes in it are pricey so I feel like I need to eat it anyway... But it's just not as good as it could be. I ate about half the bowl, but I need permission to throw it out, and throw out the rest of the pasta that is in the fridge too. I do have more ingredients so I could actually re-make it. April G
Guest guest
Hi, April G. Please, please be generous with yourself. On a day when the body is not happy, if there's a problem you can solve by throwing s bit of money at it - for more ingredients - do it. You deserve to enjoy your food, the more so when you're feeling bad. If you were caring for a child who wasn't feeling well you'd go out of your way to give herm treats and make her feel better. You wouldn't tell her, "I don't care that you feel bad, you have to eat that even if it's yukky because we don't waste food!." Be sweet and generous to yourself and especially gentle. It took me years to learn this one and in a low moment I often need someone to remind me. Take care. April M. So... today I'm trying to listen to my body and respond appropriately.
