Hi -I also have a UU and am happy to tell you that I had a

healthy little miracle baby in August. There is a lot of negative

info out there, but try to put it in the back of your mind and hang

out here for a while! There are a lot of women with UUs here and many

of them have success stories to share. There were even UU twins born

a while back!

> Has anyone with a UU ever still experienced their period and still

Not sure about this one, but I guess anything is possible. I've heard

of women who have this happen (not necessarily with a uterine

abnormality.) I did have quite a bit of spotting throughout my

pregnancy, but nothing like a regular period.

A UU pregnancy should definitely be monitored closely. I saw my OB

every few weeks and a perinatologist (high-risk pregnancy doc) every 3

weeks for a level II ultrasound. The biggest risks are preterm labor,

incompetent cervix, and and IUGR. Because you know about your UU,

your doctors would be watching for these things closely.

The best advice I can give you is to take things one step at a time,

find a doctor who you can really trust, and be very optimistic. Make

sure that you ask questions when you have them...it is definitely a

learning process, but there are lots of little UU babies out there!

Be sure to check out the pictures under " Our Kids. "

Best wishes,

UU, 29

Thank you so much for writing me back. I really appreciate it. Did

you experience any initial infertility? And did you experience any

miscarriages? How long did it take you to conceive? sorry so many

questions. But its really nice to know someone out there with your

same condition. I have a friend whose mother has a UU. She had no

problems conceiving my friend but she was born early. Her second

time around she had trouble getting pg and when she did her baby was

born too early and he died. And seven years after that she had

another baby prematurly, but healthy. I haven't actually talked to

her yet though. I have a really good doctor he is very caring and

very positive. Thanks again for your response. I will definently

keep you posted. I am just going to try not to obsess about it. I

would love to hear your story.

I got pregnant via IVF because of male factor. I did not have any problems

relating to my uterus. Keep believing and it will happen.
