Guest guest
I don't get it..........isn't ALL carb going to be turned to glucose?? What the heck else is it going to do?? I don't know, I just looked through the 3rd Edition of the ketodiet book and all I can see is that the concern is that protien levels do not fall below WHO levels (which is where the 1g per kg comes from). This is going to really bug me now, geuss I will ask my dietican what she knows. I do know that Hopkins apparently says that it is best not to go below a certain amount of carb per meal (I think its 2 g but maybe a Hopkins patient could correct me). And I still think that its only if you don't have these mimum levels, that gluconesis is a problem. But then again, even if we could figure out the rule for sure, there would be some kids who would be just the opposite.......... & Hill wrote: > Couldn't find the original message, (must be in Dec 02 archives but I > > couldn't trace it back from the thread) but these were Patti's and > Jill's > comments about it (Jill - did you happen to save the original message > from > the dietician?) > No Glenna, re your previous post, I don't know what is meant by the > min carb > requirement, or how this is worked out, 'judgement call' is maybe the > most > accurate we'd get maybe? > > > Re: ] Dietician answers protein question > > > > Jill, > > Well, I had also increased calories, lowered the ratio..... and had > upped > the protein in order help her growth and to avoid just having her get > more > carbs.... my decision.
