From: ask me...

The first few days will be the hardest for me. I'm nervous. I love crap food too much. But, I keep telling myself, the hardest part is only a few days. I can do this. So, please start sending some good vibes my way. =) Thanks!Marcella

Hi Marcella,

You are off to a good start! It will be hard for the first week or so, harder for some than others but any time you do something this drastict to your body it takes some getting used to. Once you get down pat what you can and can't have, things get alot easier.

I started my third week today and have lost 14 lbs. I am SO proud of myself because I have NEVER stuck with anything this long. I can truly see this as a way to live my life forever.

YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!

Good luck to you!

My First Day

So I've been looking into South Beach for a while now, but I'm so bad at "diets" or "lifestyle changes" that nothing really lasts for me. This time, I am determined tho. I've been lurking here, reading everyone's wonderfully encouraging remarks and I hope this time is different for me. Yesterday I got everything ready - made the breakfast quiches (which I put turkey instead of spinach in - they turned out pretty good!), hummus (which I wouldnt recommend making with a mini-food processor!), and a cucumber salad, then marinated some flank steak that I am going to put on the grill tonite. I've prepared myself for the inevitable "give-me-carbs-woman!" headache that should be coming on pretty soon. I bought a membership to the Y, where I'll go for the first time after work today. The first few days will be the hardest for me. I'm nervous. I love crap food too much. But, I keep telling myself, the hardest part is only a few days. I can do this. So, please start sending some good vibes my way. =) Thanks!MarcellaReminder: The South Beach Diet is not low-carb. Nor is it low-fat. The South Beach Diet teaches you to rely on the right carbs and the right fats-the good ones - and enables you to live quite happily without the bad carbs and bad fats. Thanks everyone for their very encouraging words. Yesterday was a good

day, almost easy. Probably because I was all psyched up for it!

Today...eh. I'm kinda craving. But it'll pass. I know it will pass.

Thanks again!
