Yesterday , her husband and I had an interesting talk to Dr. Gallinat about the medical system in Great Britain. In short: The gyns in Britain started 15 years LATER with minimal invasive surgery!!! So they are still behind. Of all the members from Britain Dr. Gallinat has seen recently, no one had proper treatment from the beginning to the end! And he thought it strange that rarely a patient had her surgery reports with her. He said that he thinks that there is a lack of competition in Britain. He gave us an example: there are 300 gyns in Hamburg (2 Mio. inhabitants) but only a few hundred for the whole UK!!!! So lots of gyn problems are even treated by the GP. There is no need to specialize in particular fields because there is enough work anyway. Dr. Gallinat is going to attend a meeting at the Royal College of OBB/GYN in London this September.
