Guest guest
I am an early childhood special education teacher. There are programs for children from birth to three...this is the Infant and Toddler Program. At three until five there are Early Intervention programs for children with developmental delays. Your local school system should have a Child Search director that you can call and set up an evaluation for your child. Yes a parent can request an evaluation. From that evaluation they will judge if there is an area that a child needs help in. In the Infant and Toddler program, a teacher goes to your home to work with you and your child. When the child turns three, he/she may qualify for the Early Intervention program at an area school or have an Early Intervention Teacher go to your home and work with your child. Check your local school system. Call your Child Search coordinator and ask questions. She/He can steer you in the right direction. chippy
