cat smell ha, it's true OK, its vinegar the white one fill a spray bottle almost full add alittle water, just spray the area, you will have to do it again, but heck it's better than having windows open lol

My question is their anything you can put on your yard for DOGS?? I ask now, because I go off on a venting spree.

Good Idea. I'm a cat person, but I'm having a terrible time with some people in our area that let their 2 LARGE Boxers Poop in our yard --- and other's in the neighborhood. They aren't letting the dogs loose--- THEY WALK THEM into other's yard and just stand there while the dogs do business. They even get mad when you say something to them. They've been in our mailbox and poked a hole in my husbands tire.

I've finally called the police on them in Oct., and they stayed away until then, but I just found two huge piles again in my front yard. I know this is horrible tol say, but I hate these people. I don't hate people, but I do hate them. I just feel really violated and I don't know who these people think they are?

Well, here it is considered trespassing even if it is just the dogs on the property. The funny thing is, OKC has (for the last few years) been spending all this money on the , "Because Dogs Can't Flush " campaign for the city, and the only thing I can see it doing is increasing the problem. Now, when you get to the park, people actually leave the crap right there by

the sign. I fail to see the humor, and it is a big deal when you can't bend over to clean it off or look down when you walk.

I'm sorry. I'm just so mad at this. It really is nasty and it stinks terribly. Animal control said I could go all the way down to their offices and file a complaint, but were quite honest and said that even if they were found guilty, the first time would be a warning. They do this to almost everyone in the neighborhood. We all know who they are, but no one seems willing to do anything.

Actually, the trespassing is probably a better way of stopping this because the police seem to carry more weight (at least it kept them away since Nov.). These people just seem to go from block to block. Five years and I am at the end of my rope. It isn't just crap... It's my mailbox, finding them in the middle of the night standing in my driveway (I know I should have called the police, but I didn't know what to say without looking like a lunatic LOL. They seem to know how far to push.

I really do hate these people...I've had a bad night ... I was hurting so much, but I've not hurting as badly this morning.

Sorry to rant..... arghhh.. I feel better. .. Kelley/ Okidoll

Hi ,

Sorry but I don't know of anything you could use on your yard, but I can sympathize with you. Some people are just rude aren't they? I live in a rather secluded area with very few neighbors. I learned the hard way how nervy and uncaring people can be. I wish I could help.....

Hugs...

>My question is their anything you can put on your yard for DOGS?? I ask now, because I go off on a venting spree.

There are products you can buy (pet shops or pet supply catalogs) that will temporarily neutralize the odor in spots - the most well known for outdoor use is a powder to mix with water called "Odor-Mute." However, these aren't practical for large areas nor do they remain effective for long periods of time.

Other techniques people use include standing out front when they know the dogs will be walked and handing the owners a plastic bag "since they evidently 'forgot' to bring their own" and even picking up the poop and returning to the rightful owners (one creative person I knew bagged it up in a plastic bag, boxed and wrapped it and left it on the offending dog owners front porch). Doesn't sound like it would help with the neighbors you described but would only make them angry and perhaps vindictive... Another technique if it is just a small area (for example, I have used it to discourage a tomcat who liked to spray the bush by my front door) is to soak the ground and/or favorite bush being used with a nicotine solution - you can buy this commercially as a spray called "Dog-Away" or you can make your own very cheaply by putting the ashes from a cigar (or cigarette though it takes more and they aren't as powerful) in a container of water - let them sit for several days then pour the solution on the area. Depending on what you have growing and your soil sprinkling garden lime may discourage the dogs as well - but you have to be careful as the lime may burn the grass or whatever is growing there and this only is workable if you have ground for the lime to seep into when it rains.

Not a quick fix but can you put a short hedge at the front of your property - or even a short decorative fence like they sell for edging in gardens? If it isn't easy for the dog(s) to get onto your property (i.e., they would have to hop over a fence or go through a hedge), maybe they will at least avoid your yard and go to a more easily accessible one.
