Re: Is Albuterol Mist OK? Hi, Do you mean albuterol from a nebulizer machine? My son uses a nebulizer several times a year because he gets croup at the drop of a hat and does fine with it. If the doctor wants to give her oral albuterol it might need to be compounded to be sugar free. I have found that around here in WV you need a doctor to write on the prescription to sweeten only with liquid saccharin or they won't do it. I usually do it myself and add a few drops of safe flavoring to the bottle. An inhaler should be OK. Just ask the pharmacist to make sure it's sugar free.
