Guest guest
I posted this several days ago late at night and have not received any feedback so I thought I would try again. I haven't posted for quite awhile. I had an ERCP on March 2, 2001 and had Acute Pancreatitis on March 3. I spent fourteen days in the hospital , npo for ten days and I third spaced, blew up like a tick. Doctors have been telling me since that I would be better anyday. They couldn't understand why I have continued to have so much pain. I have been taking Diluadid 8mg X2 to 3 per day and Vicodin 3 to 4 per day. Viocase with snacks and meals hasn't seemed to affect my pain at all. My original Gastroenterologist who is a personal friend finally sent me to a Pancreatic surgeon at OSU , Dr. Ellison. I have had CAT scans and MRI's monthly , he takes one look at them and tells me that he thinks that my pancreas has split in two, the head has separated from the body. This was caused by the necrosis that occurred during the initial acute stage. He sas that the only way for me to get relief from this pain is to have the body removed. He wants me to go to the Cleveland Clinic for a endoscopic ultrasound to confirm his diagnosis. Has anybody had or know of a similar experience?
