Guest guest
Hmmm, I think I may try making my own. Where should I shop for the lavender & carrier oils etc? thank you!! Cleo Cleo, For me buying this stuff is all about trust. Going to a store where I can talk to the staff, get real answers to my questions and feel good about the process. I buy my oils at a speciality aromatherapy store b/c I'm lucky to live close to one. Prior to that I went to health food stores. The staff should be knowledgable about the oils, each oil's personality and characteristics. They should also have books for the public to look through. Each oil has to be respected - that means understanding how it works with you, your health conditions, age etc.., Lavendar is generally thought of as a very gentle oil though as ygg pointed out some people have allergies to it. I use it with my kids all the time. It's the "mommy oil" and calms and comforts. Mind you, I use it properly diluted. Another topic the staff at the store should be aware of. Any place you get the lavendar E.O. should sell carrier oils like apricot kernal, jojoba, sweet almond. But you can use full fat milk or even olive oil. E.O.s cannot be diluted by water -always remember this. Be mindful of the slippery factor when getting out of the bath, if using olive oil, and when using it again. Or just wipe it down before using it again. Any other questions feel free to email me privately. Dawne
