Guest guest
I am wanting to use a challenge test to convince my husband and his dr. that mercury is the cause of his health problems. I need to know exactly how to do the challenge test. Would it be like doing one round of chelation? We are currently chealing my daughter so I know the drill on that. Or would I give him one large dose of DMSA, and collect urine for so many hours that way? His dr. is very open to the idea of it being mercury related but just needs a little more convincing so that our insurance company will pick up the tab. Also has anyone heard of transverse myelitis and if so do you know if this can be mercury related...the symptoms to me seem to indicate the possiblity. Thanks, Sam

Guest guest
>> Sam, The current DAN! way of doing a challenge test is a one-time dose, usually a large amount, which in itself presents large risks. I believe if you spread out the dose over at least 2, preferably 3 days, and keep the dose to 1/4 mg per pound of bodyweight per dose, the risks would be much less. Will your husband do this, or is it a " one shot deal " ? If this is the case, still only have him take 1/4mg per pound for that dose. Will he consent to a hair test? Thi is much less risky and you can see by the mineral levels if mercury is a problem. You can find info on this in the files section " how to hair test " Hope this helps, Tina
Guest guest
Hello Sam I'm also getting ready to do the challenge test with Doctor's Data. Their instructions are not very specific about chelation agent/dosage, when to take the agent, etc. They say to skip the first morning urine and to begin collection with second urination and go up to the next day, including the next day's first urination. I think what you are supposed to do is give the DMSA for which you need a Dr.'s RX, after the first urination. The dosage, based on Dr. Bradstreet is 10mg/kg DMSA given 3X/day not to exceed 30mg/kg for the day for one-three days depending on how difficult it is to collect urine. Please let me know if this is your interpretation makes sense and whether you find out more information. Thanks, Liz > I am wanting to use a challenge test to convince my husband and his > dr. that mercury is the cause of his health problems. I need to know > exactly how to do the challenge test.
