I'm not sure you're interested in this but I wanted to make sure to tell y'all, just in case. Please do NOT feel obligated in any way. I'm just putting the info out there so you'll have it (and so can't say I didn't bother to tell anyone.)

The graduation ads for the back of the yearbook (you know,"Congratulations on finally graduating. I never thought you'd make it." kinda stuff) need to be turned in to the school by Oct 1, if anyone wants to place one for . I have plenty of embarrassing pictures if you need one hehehe The yearbook staff is designing the pages so you just need to send me your money, what you want to say in the ad and a business card, photo, picture, etc. and I'll make sure they are turned in. 302 Warren Drive, Sylvester, GA 31791

Here are the prices:

Full page........... $125......... can use 10-12 pictures

1/2 page............ $65

1/4 page............ $40

1/8 page............ $30

Graduation Day is May 21 at 8:30 am but I'm sure we'll be ordering invitations soon (cha-ching) and getting them in the mail closer to The Day. only has to pass one class, next semester, to graduate so I guess she'll make it LOL Would you believe they wouldn't let her take the one class that she needs this semester because they were afraid she wouldn't take any classes next semester (duh!) and the school would lose money. Geez! So this semester she's taking 2 junk classes but I guess it will help her GPA.

OK so that's the news so far. I have a feeling her "college savings" will be used more on graduation than on college. Everywhere you turn, there's someone wanting money for something she "has to have" before she graduates.

Talk to you soon,

Christy

OH, yeah, I remember senior year....rings, pics, yearbooks, graduation gowns, prom gowns, a nice outfit for under the graduation gowns, homecoming gowns, those little business card type cards with your name on, announcements, thank you cards, parties, and on and on and then on to college....yikes!

Yep. We did the pictures, the ring is due in about 3 weeks but it's paid for, now the ads for the yearbook. We're doing a full page ad because then you get the $45 yearbook free (I'm still not sure I see the reasoning behind spending $140 so I don't have to spend $45. Hmmmmm) and then graduation cards and invitations are next. Then graduation "fees", the new dress, and then finding a hotel at the last minute for relatives that "forgot to tell me they were coming." When 200 kids are graduating and we have 2 tiny hotels in town LOL I've got a good mind to get 3 rooms and pay for them to stay empty rather than worry at the last minute. I thought my biggest worry was paying for the dorm next year. I guess I should shut up and be thrilled (I am) that she's graduating since my other one chose not to.

Speaking of "the other one" .... no call, card, nothing for my birthday. I haven't heard from her in several weeks and I am NOT calling her. She does have a phone now and she lives about 4 blocks down. That did hurt, though.

I guess it did! But it's best not to expect it from her, then if there is a call you're pleasantly surprised.

Our graduations around here have limited seating and the kids get a set number of tickets.

When I graduated I got 7, when Kayly and Corin graduated they got 6...the classes were much bigger but they also used a bigger place. Plus we were lucky in that all of my relatives lived nearby and the only ones of the kids that lived far away are their father's parents and sister.
