Guest guest
Stacey, Great to hear all is well with you and your baby girl!! I had pressure and achiness from about 18 weeks on to 23-24 weeks. I went in a few times to be checked, but all was well. It seems to be very common in pregnancy. Just the weight of the growing baby and your body's adjustment to that. I always think it is a good idea to go with your gut feeling and get checked, just to be safe or even just to ease your mind. But, it sounds totally normal. I am so excited for you! Almost half way there. Take care, SU resected, bicollis, mom to Sol- 4/14/03 _________________________________________________________________ The new MSN 8: smart spam protection and 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail
Guest guest
Hi Stacey, Congratulations on your pregnancy! I have UD and have had three kids. I did have the achiness/pressure that you mentioned but in my case I think it was a little later, around 23 weeks or so, I remember it so well because it was terrifying to be just on the verge of " viability " . In my case, the achiness traslated into sporadic contractions and I was put on bedrest for 2 weeks, off work, strict orders to stay off my feet, lie on my left side and drink LOTS of water. I was checked again at the end of the two weeks and cautiously resumed my activities, and everything was fine. With a cerclage already in place, my take would be to be extra careful and take it easy, stay off your feet as much as you can. The increasing weight of the pregnancy CAN have an effect on your cervix, so it's wise to be checked by US or however your doctor does it. I went in for those checks often too - usually by my request, if I felt anything was " off " . Take care and hope everything continues to go well for you. Keep us posted. Guest guest
Lia, ... Thank you so much for your input, experiences and suggestions. You both validated my instinct to call the doctor so that we could check things out ASAP. I feel a sense of relief today...now I just need to keep going...another 6 weeks or so under my belt and will really start to feel confident with this pregnancy. Thanks again! And, congrats on your baby, !! Stacey
Guest guest
, I experienced that, almost like the baby was laying low, felt like it would fall out or something (!?!?!) my dr assured me all was fine and he was in there good and tight (which he was)-- I think its the weight of the baby and uterus (etc) on those muscles down there----my sis in law was prg at the same time, a few mos ahead, with a *normal* uterus, said she felt the same thing, but more toward the end of her prg (mine was earlier, around 19-20 weeks) good luck, and if you are ever worried, call the dr to be sure! j/BU

I think I know what you mean by the " pressure " and " achiness " ; I had my 24 week checkup just after Easter, and I felt a lot of pressure at that time low down, possibly in my cervical area, I didn't look to see! The m/w seemed to think it was all okay, and I'm nearly 2 weeks since that time, and nothing's happened...I still get the pressure, but I figure, nothing's changed, it's all still going swimmingly, my baby is still kicking and punching me (even now as I type!) all hours of the day and night - I hope this is no indication of what sort of sleeper he's going to be... This is my third baby, but it's been 3 years since the last time I got this far, so if it's happened every pregnancy, then I've forgotten about it! I was initially stressed about it, but I realised it wasn't really indicating anything, so I'm just going about my normal business, resting if I need to, when I can. http://mobile.yahoo.com.au - Yahoo!
