Guest guest
We used Kirkman's ProCulture Gold to lower my son's very high DHPPA. It took a few months, but did the trick. My son's dr had concerns over the possiblity that Culturelle had casein in it, but now, years later, I feel that issue has been pretty much settled. Guest guest
I believe Culturelle is helpful in reducing clostridia. My son's dhppa was very high, it came down to normal with extra culturelle over the period of a month or two. You can also kill it with vancomycin or flagyl if you want to go down that road..................Kim > I just got the results of my Organic Acids test and it showed high > Dihydroxyphenylpropionate which was listed under Clostridial > Intestinal Dysbiosis. Guest guest
Cultrelle is a good thing to give to rid your body of Clostridia. S. boulardii is for yeast... Guest guest
How do you know if your child has clostridia? A stool test? If so, what type of test and where is the best place to test? Guest guest
Thanks. We had the organic acid test done. It did not show that, so I guess we are OK on that one! Guest guest
We did not detect Clostridia in my son's stool with the stool test... we " found " it with the organic acid test. Cultrelle helps keep it under control. Guest guest
Mariko, Biocidin (from www.biobotanicalresearch.com),and oregano oil help with clostridia, especially if you can also supplement probiotics. I usually use 3-4 drops of biocidin or 2 drops of oregano oil and give it 2-3 times a day. My son had very bad reaction to Flagyl, I stopped on the third day. He did not have clostridia at that time, so it was reaction to the medication itself, not die-off. Margaret > We found out that my son has Clostridia in his system. Dr. Prescribed Flagyl > for him. Guest guest
my son used Flagyl and it worked very well, but all benefits have mot lasted. WE had upped Klaire labs therabiotic probiotics to about 4 a day previously and had used sacc boulardi and biocidin. He seems to now tolerate 1 drop biocidin at a time. When you kill clostridia you can feed yeast. What a mess this all is. I just ran a stool test so we can see where things are at . All sugar should be eliminated during the process.
