Maltitol is found a lot in sugar free chocolate products. It is a

sugar alcohol able to with stand the heat of the chocolate process,

made from corn syrup. Unless you are diabetic, it really isn't a safe

thing to be consuming. My mother would not touch the stuff if it were

not for the fact she is a diabetic who loves chocolate.

So while it may be GF, I would not give it to my children (unless

medically necessary). Children are especially suseptible to toxins

and by products of artifical sugars.

And when you have time there are several articles and links from

within Mercola.com on artifical sweetners in general, not specific to

Maltitol.
