Guest guest
Rose and all: When my insurance company refused to pay for my Zofran, I investigated various methods of obtaining it including applying for patient's assistance with the manufacturer, Glaxo Wellcome. You need a physician to become involved in the process as your advocate. For different reasons, some doctors refuse. As per guidelines, such programs require that we meet specific financial criteria. That means that you have to make your personal records available to them. It also means that your doctor gets to see them, as well. That could make some uncomfortable. To be able to get much needed medication via this means seems great, but I must add this: The pharmaceutical mfrs. are not doing this out of the goodness of their corporate hearts. They are mandated by federal laws. They give away product. The government gives them tax breaks. -E We were dismayed to learn that our monthly health insurance premium which was, at that time, over $400 a month was not a considered expense.
