Guest guest
Hi everyone...... This is off the " pancreas " subject but important to me. Our church has annually what we call " 911 Sunday " . This is a sunday to honor ALL 911 personnel in the city and surrounding areas....i.e., firefighters, EMS personnel, hospital emergency workers, etc. We do law enforcement separately because we don't have the room but today we had lots of law enforcement people too. I have enjoyed this immensely every year and never ever leave " dry eyed " ! This year it was particularly an experience for me as my son is now a firefighter and I got to sit along side him and his new wife and honor him! This brings a whole new perspective on things especially with what has been going on in our country. This service could not have been planned for a better date! It is planned a year ahead but watching all those firefighters and emergency personnel, it really, really " lifted their spirits " . This really is a big deal here! All the 911 equipment, trucks, helicopters, color guards, etc. etc. My own son who was exhausted as he was out all night last night fighting fires with no break received a big lift from this! Not to mention, that on this one day they are with ALL 911 personnel and their families and our church sponsors a dinner also. It sure gives the employees a lift as well as their families! My point? Please when you see the police, firefighters, EMS personnel, or military person, health care worker etc. let em know you love and appreciate them PLEASE! You might just make the difference that keeps them going that day! God Bless America! Kaye Fortenberry P.S. Also having contact with as many firefighters as I do, believe me a homecooked meal or " goodie " taken to the firestation never hurts either! I never met a firefighter who didn't like to eat!
