Cheryl,

Would you continue this long term or is this a short term treatment? I have read

that it is good to mix it with apple cider vinegar and honey. Is this something

you have ever done, or is just plain water more effective? Also, should I expect

any die-off kinds of behaviors, and if so, is there anything that can be given

to help with this? Sorry for all the questions. I've been wanting to try this

for months now, and your post finally made me order it. Thanks!

Well, that would depend. It can be a short term treatment for specific illness.

Or, long term supplementation until iodine sufficiency is reached, everything

is repaired and then it is a maintenance dosage. Not sure if anyone can

maintain sufficiency without supplementing, even if eating a ton of seafood or

iodine rich foods.

Some do use Iodine with the apple cider vinegar. No way i could, that stuff is

just too gross to me.

The only real initial thing is flu like symptoms. For a week or 2. Then it's

mostly just feeling good. No more colds. No more flu. No more IBS. No more hair

loss. The edges of my eyebrows grew back. I have lost about 40 pounds. Without

trying or changing my diet. No more depression. I had some adrenal issues that

was corrected with increased salt. I have had some liver issues from time to

time, mostly with high fat meals, corrected with apple juice and milk thistle.

Tho the liver issues didnt really happen i think till i began dumping more

junk, which happens once you achieve sufficiency. I went thru a few months of

sporadic liver issues then it was gone and havent had it since. Before Iodine i

had an eye tic. Gone now. I also had one eye larger than the other (only

noticable to ME probably!) which is now corrected. I use to have alot of

bronchitis (i smoke) and i dont have it anymore. Same with sinus infections. I

use to have several suspicious spots on various parts of my body that are gone

except one fairly persistent one. I have been arthritic for several years

before this, mostly ankles and right hip and knee. They dont ever hurt anymore.

Most importantly i feel GOOD all the time now!

My son had the same flu like symptoms the first few weeks. He also has no more

colds (had one a month foreverrr previously), his constipation is gone. His bms

are now normal. He no longer has the yeasty giggles. Ever. He no longer bites

his hands. Stimming is fairly gone. Cognitively he went from 10 words(the same

10 words for 10 years) on his Voice output device to 75 within 6 months. After a

year & 1/2 now, seeing him manipulate from page to page on his ipad is amazing!

The last few months have seen an increase in his vocal attempt at words. He says

mom regulary now rather than the once a year shocker. There are other

improvements,

Keep in mind i have never given him more than 25mg even tho he is adult size. He

is 17, 6' and about 170 lbs (from 185, very lean now less fat). I want to

increase but paranoid for no good reason except that he cant tell me if

something hurts so i have been cautious. I have to observe him to know if

anything is bothering him most the time so i have just taken it slow and steady

with a mid level dosage (12.5 being regular/maintenance adult dosage and 50mg

beign high dosage protocol). He hasnt had any issues that I can see.

All that said(way more than you asked about!), I think it depends on the

individual and how much damage they have to determine how long the higher dosage

would be needed.

The companion supplements(Mag, Se, C, B2, Niacin, Natural Salt) are necessary

fairly eliminate any problems. It all works together. I use transdermal

magnesium chloride and coconut oil daily so those probably help.

I personally think, even tho it's not part of the protocol that tyrosine may be

needed by most with higher dosages. Nothing to point to, just my own belief.

My son and I's complete list of supps is:

Iodine, Mag Chloride transdermally, Mag Malate internally, Vit C (2000mg),

which also has calcium carbonate and mag carbonate), Niacin (100mg) And Flush

Free Niacin (500mg), B2, D3 (winter months only, prefer 20 min a day of sun when

its out), Tyrosine and Enzymes. I also take NutriMeds Porcine Thyroid (less

concentrated Armour).

I did experiment recently to see what would happened if i stopped iodine. After

3 days depression hit me. Something i use to feel daily and hadnt in a long

time. So i took some iodine and it went away.

I expect this is one supplement you will never regret buying!

Yes pink salt is the one i use. I just like it's flavour best. Some use Celtic

sea salt. Natural unprocessed salt is what you want. You want salt at meals and

1/4 to 1 tsp additional per day. I put a tsp in water and drink it twice a day.

People with less damage would use less. 1/4tsp is a good place to start then add

if needed.

The flush free is what recommended by the protocol. I prefer both even tho they

do the same things, the niacin does more. I use a 50 mg tablet cut in half twice

a day. Never flushed yet. Just my preference.

Some say that the iodine is converted to iodide by the C. Which is not a real

probably except the body has to convert it back. And since alot of people cant

do that and the body uses both it's probably better to just do it away from

citrus. On the other hand some say it doesnt matter. I go with the dont make my

body work harder than it has to.

Not a big deal. Some people dont think it matters. If you are getting some of

your iodine transdermally it matters less.

The C changes the iodine to iodide. The body requires both iodine and iodide.

The now " all " iodide you just drank can be changed back to iodine in the body.

Some think thats a process that should be avoided, others dont. I tend to err on

the side that most our damaged bodies have trouble with processes (think the

different Seleniums and folic acid) so i dont make it work harder than it has

to.
