I am just so thankful I found this group and all the terrific people that it includes. You are all the greatest and so helpful. I didn't know that Saudia Arabia had/was British. I learn something all the time. So you think that the games that were televised in America were a little biased.LOL Does that surprise you? If I hit chat in the center of the page, it will never let me in. We will get you in on Friday. Or were you already there on Friday? Oh.... I'm soo lost.....LOL My brain feels fried today, must be all this fog we have here. It is causing brain fog.LOL If I can be of more help (LOL) just let me know. We only stayed there about 10min. longer and we all signed off. I think all were pretty wore out after the Holiday. Did you have a good day or did you celebrate Thanksgiving? Take care! Guest guest Posted November 25, 2000 Report Share Posted November 25, 2000 Yes, Glenda I was so cross - I heard voices then I was kicked off. When I got back on you had all gone!!We didn't really celebrate Thanksgiving, but the Chef did do turkey with homemade cranberry sauce etc etc, but I have to say I did not partake, as it was an evening meal and if I eat after about 7.00 not only do I get indigestion, my blood sugar stays up! So if I have a light meal earlier it suits me better. Very boring of me, I know. Arabs tend to eat between 9 and 10 pm on normal days, and at Saudi weddings, there is an enormous feast at around 2.00 am, but then we usually stay until 4 or 5 am, and sleep in a little, so I then miss breakfast so it sort of balances out. My problem is I am more of a morning person!! I know I am living in the wrong society!! Still, weddings are only two or three times a year. They are fairly amazing, women only, maybe 3000 women wearing couture dresses and jewelry to die for (makes the s look poor!)and not a security man in sight. Well, not a man in sight, except the groom and hiss " supporters " make about an hour's appearance. Then all the women (literally, some of them) let their hair down and dance. There is a ladies band with drums, stringed instruments, and singers. It is all good fun. Apparently the men have their own party, but pack up a lot earlier than the women!! I don't quite know how I got onto this but... someone was asking if I am a Saudi citizen, no I'm not, I will always be a Brit, but Saudi is definitely my adopted home!! I can't wait to get back!! Guest guest Posted November 26, 2000 Report Share Posted November 26, 2000 Oh, , I pick out the interesting things to share - sometimes it is really boring - sitting around waiting for the girls to make up their minds (also they have not got a very good sense of time) what they are going do do. Then they do nothing. It is difficult to use that waiting time constructively!! But as I have said before they are very sweet, dear girls, and they look after me.
