Are you KIDDING me?! You have to pay out of pocket for cervix #2!!!! Have you challenged your ins company on that? I would think that EACH cervix would get one free pap a year...never mind that they only " expect " you to have one cervix. That just doesn't sound fair that you have to pay. Guest guest
- I am also UD and have 2 paps, one for each side, each time. Hope that you can find a way to do it without much pain. Marie
Guest guest
> I'm wondering how many of you UDers out there have 2 pap smears done - one for each side? My left side is not accessible and this concerns me. My Pap smears in the past only cover my right side. > My left side is pushed up and back, so trying to give me a Pap smear would be very painful. I plan to call my ob to ask him about this but I'm wondering if any of you are in a similar situation and what you have done? Hi ! You should always have every cervix checked, every year. I have two cervices and checking one is extremely painful, but when I was a teenager I blew off my paps and ended up missing precancerous cells, which led to carcinoma. My point is, yearly paps are recommended for a reason ... I insist on it every single time AND check the results to make sure they got a " negative " result on both. Once I called to check and they said, " Oh look at that, we didn't get enough cells from the left side ... guess we should have had you come back in for that. " Duh. I know it stinks, but you have to advocate for yourself ... and your cervices :-) Every - single - year. G

Not to get dramatic, but I think this is may be illegal (ladies? what do you think?). Seriously. I would pursue this with your insurance company and, if necessary, your attorney general. Sickening.
