We came home after activation and did not respond to sounds that he used to with his hearing aids. He has been doing well with it so far. It's been activated for 7 months. He got it when he was 20 months old. He's 2 1/2 yrs now. He's always been very vocal. He understands a lot! He is expressing himself more and more each day and we're starting to get more combination sounds now like " Elmo " and this weekend he said, " Baby " very clearly. It's been slow progress, but I think ithe rate of progress will take off soon. We're proud of him. Good luck to you.
