It depends on what you are using for your email program.

If your email is set up to copy the message to which you are replying, the easiest way is to just take the copied stuff, delete what you don't want (i.e. the other person's comments) and insert your own.

Most of the email systems - as well as most Windows programs - I know will also allow you to do a "cut (or copy) and paste." It has to do with the programs you are using, not with your ISP.

Open up a "new" message leaving the one you are replying to open. Then toggle back to the old one (you do that by holding down your ALT and TAB keys at the same time - each time you do that it will take you back to other "windows" that are open so if you have a bunch of stuff open you may need to do it more than once). Highlight what you want to copy, then hit your CONTROL key and the letter C at the same time; this will Copy the highlighted text. Then toggle over to your "new" message, put the cursor in the body of the message and hit CONTROL and the letter V at the same time and this will "paste" the copied material into the new document.

Trudy, C and I both use sbcGlobal (Yahoo) and I like it. I think she does too. We do not use it for our E-mail. We both use Outlook Express which imports the E-mails using something called POP3 or something. Outlook Express makes cut and pasting very easy. As far as doing the same on sbcGlobal, I don't know.
