Guest guest
Is anyone else from here attending the Institute for Parents of Preschool Children who are deaf or hard of hearing, being held in Illinois by DSCC? Just curious, as we will be there. Debbie, I went about 3 years ago. It was wonderful. I still have friends that I had met there. My friend will be on the parent panel. Her name is Debbie. She has a deaf son. I loved ISD. We had recently been thinking of moving down there. I live east of Joliet. Where are you from? I have been back to ISD for several seminars. ville is a beautiful town. I hope you have time to drive around and look at all the beautiful old houses. Please let me know how you liked it. Guest guest
I am not going to the workshop but my daughter will be attending ISD in the fall. My husband and I attended Illinois College, which is across the street from the school for the deaf. I worked at ISD for three years as a college worker. It is a nice place. If it weren't, my daughter wouldn't be attending High School there. Being in the military we decided she needed more stability than the army could possibly offer. Presently we live in La. We hope to move closer to Ill. as well. My son wants to attend Il. COllege in a year or so. Duncan Park is across the street from ISD. SOmetimes one of the Ladies societies offers tours of former governer Duncan's house which is located in the park. Well worth the couple of bucks paid to get in. The gov. house it typical of many of the older homes located there in ville. I think we toured on Sunday if you are interested. Enjoy your visit to ville and at ISD.
