Dear

I don't really know about pregnancy & pancreatitis but I think there

was someone in the group who got pregnant. Had the child and

everyting but it seems to me that the pregnancy set off an attack of

pancreatitis. I know my niece was pregnant and she had ulcerative

colitis which is life threatening./ She was alright while pregnnat

but when she had the baby it set off an acute attack that caused her

to have to have major, MAJOR surgery taking out large and small

intestine and having to have an ileostomy! I don't say that to scare

you cause everybody is different plus she had ulcerative colitis not

pancreatitis. Pregnancy will put a strain on your body for sure

though.

Don't you just love docs who have never experienced that problem but

tell you what to do like THEY have a clue!

Take care

,

I had a gall bladder attack when I was pregnant with my second son,

it eventually lead to having my gallbladder removed about a year

later. After the removal, I had acute pancreatitis, still had a stone

in my duct. Two weeks after the gallbladder surgery, I had to have

surgery to remove the stone. All this was in 1976, when gallbladder

surgery was a major surgery, my doctor said I actually had two

gallbladder surgeries in two weeks. I did have a successful pregnancy

after this, no problems at all. It all depends on the individual

woman. There is someone else on this list who did have pregancies

with pancreatitis. I know that having my children was worth

everything. I hope that you find a doctor who will help you to have

that family that you want.
