Guest guest
Hi ... I must admit the paragraph you wrote below really surprised the heck out of me... Not something I have ever known someone to experience that was dieting.. Consistancy/balance in your diet would not leave you to cravings .. like more fats , protein or carbs.. you would be getting a nice mixture of these on a dialy basis.. Do you think this really is physical in nature? As for denying a woman chocolate she would have to desire it in order for you to be able to deny it to her.. This is an old wives tale of women desiring such sweets although it does have some definate aphrodisiac qualities.. Probably one of the reasons why men bear gifts of chocolate to their ladies.. I will stick with serving up the asparagus for .. lol --- Noctaire wrote: From time to time, my body needs more > protein and on those days I > eat higher amounts of it. Yup. I get a reasonably balanced day's nutrients but it isn't perfect. Depending on activity levels, if I get a bit off on certain nutrients, what's going on with body (illness, physical injury, etc), and so forth, I will need certain nutrients in greater quantities. My hunger at mealtime " feels " different depending on what I'm needing. I respond accordingly. FWIW, it's important to differentiate between this and cravings. Although the mechanics may be the same, there's more to it than that. Cravings are a psycho-physiological response to a physiological need. Even in the case of carb cravings that we seek to correct in this diet, we're talking about a psycho-physiological response to a physiological need. The side effects are bad, of course, but it's still a perfectly natural response. > As for denying a woman chocolate she would have to desire it > in order for you to be able to deny it to her.. > > This is an old wives tale of women desiring such sweets > although it does have some definate aphrodisiac qualities.. > Probably one of the reasons why men bear gifts of chocolate > to their ladies.. A sensible man realizes the truth of the tie between chocolate and the woman. I've been around enough women over the years to understand the importance of it -- especially around a gal's TOTM. I have a wife and a daughter -- my wife has made it clear to me that should our house ever be without chocolate I risk imminent demise. Once I attempted to throw out some chocolate that we had collected from a previous candy holiday (Easter, Halloween...). I remember starting to drop it in the garbage can then waking up in the hospital, having been out for 3 days. ;-) While I'm sure there are women who do not like chocolate. To date, I have not actually met one.

Guest guest
I have indeed forgotten all about TOTM and also pregnancies.. especially since my last TOTM was at the age of 33!!! As well as my last pregnancy being at the age of 29.. I think I wanted V-8 juice though and remembering downing a lot of it.. to the point of tossing my cookies on it. Nothing like a little lava flow.. GGG As for your stay in the hospital.. I would have thought they would have removed all chocolate from the home.. after all it carried deadly consequences to those involved with this particular aphrodisiac.. Just perhaps there is some truth to the saying Death by chocolate? funny --- Noctaire wrote: > > I must admit the paragraph you wrote below really > surprised > > the heck out of me... Guest guest
I wish I had that problem! LOL My family is all chocolate crazies! I am not a big chocolate fan either. Never have been. I always hated chocolate cake as a kid too. RE: Help - Phase 2... >>While I'm sure there are women who do not like chocolate. To date, I have not actually met one. << That would all depend on your definition. I don't like chocolate 3 weeks out of the month. Can not stand the stuff. Now that I have been on SB it has to be either sugar free or really expensive truffles. But only that one week. Maybe I have conditioned myself to this because of the stereotype but nope don't eat it. Made me sick to my stomach when I was pregnant. Growing up my best friend was allergic to chocolate so I did not get a lot of it. That might have something to do with it. Guest guest
, I'm with you. I don't like chocolate at all. I do like the white chocolate though. I will be ready to start phase 2 of the diet on Monday. So far, I have lost 11 pounds, and my blood sugars have returned to normal. Yea! Guest guest
, I think that is great!! ann < > I like white chocolate too. I heard that it is not really chocolate so maybe that is why we both like it. > > I lost another pound this week. Total weight loss in 4 weeks----6 lbs. Not as productive as most of you but it is better than nothing. I was really hoping I would have lost 10 lbs in a month. I have two more days until my one month mark but I doubt I will lose 4 more lbs by then. My goal now is 6 more pounds by the end of May. That will bring me to 158. > >
