We tryed it about 5 years ago and it sedated him too much, but as we are out of options in relation to drugs (Been through them all including Vagel Nerve Stimulator) we thought we would try again. This time I am not seeing sedation but increased happiness and less seizures. To my knowledge, Klonopin is fine for Mito patients. The one that is questionable is Depakote/Depakene. Guest guest Posted January 31, 2003 Report Share Posted January 31, 2003 My son has been on a low dose of Klonopin (0.5 mg twice a day) for over 4 years to control seizures. Once he became used to it, it doesn't have any sedating effect on him, and has had no sign of interfering with his mito function. Regina klonopin I just realized I talked to our neuro and agreed to Klonopin and couldn't remember if it was a good mito drug or a bad one? We tried vallium and it didn't work at all....opposite effect...we are trying to help control when he gets really upset and we can't calm him down...hoping to use it only as needed...thanksdeb Please contact mito-owner with any problems or questions.
