Guest guest
What confuses me in regards to all of this is, how do you determine whether your insurance or your school should pay for mappings? Currently, my insurance covers mappings after my deductible. My son is in a public school, but the audiologist there is not competent to do mappings or aural habilitation, therefore, it comes either out of my pocket or the insurance. I currently am so disappointed with the educational audiologist. She is one of those who thinks she knows it all and you cannot tell her a thing. But, she does no mappings, no aural habilitation, and tests the microlink only once a month. What if the microlink goes out the day after she checks it? Does he have to stay that way without anyone knowing? Thank goodness the teacher there is competent enough to check his equipment and I am competent to make sure he goes to school with a working CI everyday. Anyway, I am venting. Thanks for everyone's support here. I would have worse days without you!!
Guest guest
I heard about the outcome of this case on our local news (we live in western New Hampshire. I believe that the family in question asked that the district pay just the co-pay for the mappings as their insurance covered the mappings. They weren't asking for the full cost of the map.
