Guest guest
Dear Holly; Your teens don't hate you, they just treat you like all teens treat their parents - like you're poison! Fortunately it's temporary, and teenagers grow into adults and, generally at least, grow up a little and realize that mom and dad were pretty cool afterall... Good luck making it from here to there. Haha! Are you on a PC or a Mac? Probably a PC... I use Adobe Pagemill, PhotoShop and Illustrator, (sometimes QuarkXPress), and between the four can do just about any and everything that I need to accomplish in the world of publishing print or web, and although those are all available for the PC, they're quite expensive... You could easily spend about $3000 on software alone, as well as a significant RAM upgrade or two... So I would probably suggest starting off with one of the PC-based, considerably less expensive applications that's more of an " all-in-one " package like Microsoft FrontPage, which is a pretty all-inclusive quite of features, and runs about $150 complete. There are some really " Flashy " suites available, like Flash and Dreamweaver w/ Fireworks, but those are really advance-technique animation and flash, Java, etc., and involve a lot of stuff that would confuse the hell outta' me. I'd say with a package like FrontPage 2002, youi'd be set up pretty sweet, for a very affordable price. Yep... That gets my vote. I think Mark might have said he uses FrontPage too, just be sure to buy 2002... It looks like they've added quite a few features. Good luck Holly, I look forward to sharing some work with you, and feel free to ask anything you like! Peace, Terry in KC << Dear Terry, I am trying to keep my mind off of my pain, my teenagers and my cp so I thought I'd ask about your web page design. Is the software terribly expensive and what kind of professions might a cp laden gal like myself find? I know you work from home, not by choice I assume, but I am left handed and very creative also and love to mess with this pc! Keeps my mind off of the hurts most of the time too! I go for the Celiac block next month and thought if I had some time of, maybe I could purchase a program to design. I'd love to have my own domain. Do you have any software suggestions? By the way, they put me on Duragesic 75 mcg. patches q 72 hours and actiq 600 mcg. for breakthrough pain and I'm kinda happy with it. Finally got some good pain relief! Maybe it would help you and everyone else out if they haven't tried it. I thought I would have trouble with the actiq being a lozenge, but it doesn't upset my system at all! And man, they sure do taste good! Take care my friend! You know I pray for everyone on my list! I think of you all as my family seeing that my own family hates me. (teenagers) I think they can't wait til I die. Love you alll! Holly >>
