Guest guest
What was the cause for the lockdown? My first Masters degree is in library studies and information science, and I have worked in all kinds of libraries. Guest guest
The police had a suspect in that area so they contacted the school. I feel fortunate that I was there to see how effective the teachers were. I feel confident that my children are safe at school. I think the tragedies at Columbine made schools more prepared for the " what if's " I really thought it was a drill for a minute...then the librarian told me they are notified ahead of time if there will be a drill. They did a good job of keeping a mob of kindergarteners calm, and thats not easy.
Guest guest
Oh no! How scary! What happened? About 2 wks ago the school lost my lil Gabby. Shes in kindergarten. For a whole hour we or the school had no idea were she was. I thought she was kidnapped cuz all these teachers were saying they saw her here or there.Im like WTH! Anyway, what ended up happening was a new teacher put her on the wrong bus and the teacher and bus driver failed to look at her bus id right on her neck, which they are suppose to do especially with the lil ones. Yup all you can imagine happend. I was hysterically going around yelling out demands for these teachers that were jus standing around!Ugh!Luckily,me,rene, mom, and Pay my oldest were there. So,rene got the buses.1 driver had the nerve to not let him on and so he had 2 make a fuss and finally he was able to check all buses.Unfortunetly she was gone on the very 1st bus so when she retuned she was all alone on the last bus.:(She was terrified.Week later she wanted to ride it so now the teacher takes her & her older sis herself:)phew! Guest guest
With that much stuff goin' on.. I won't tell you bout the time they lost my 6th grader... and why he would have fallen asleep on the floor in the coat closet at the back of the room.. or the heart attack he nearly gave the janitor who found him sleeping there.. But I KNOW the panic you felt when the lil one disappeared from where she was supposed to be... Glad things worked out... and all turned out fine.. and... can ya really get upset with the driver who wouldn't let a strange person on the bus to look for a child?.. I don't think I'd get too upset.. he was keeping somebody (or so he thought at the time).. who shouldn't be snatching a child up from doing so.. Guest guest
The same kinda situation happened to my daughter when she was in kindergarten. She got on the right bus but the driver dropped her off at the wrong stop. Luckily I saw she wasn't on the bus I yelled at the driver and he knew where he dropped her off. She was just standing where he dropped her, crying and scared. You would think they would take extra care with the little ones, just so they wouldn't have to deal with the mama bears. Guest guest
OMG!! How long were they there? He or she? And how long did you have to wait to know what the heck happened... We were lucky, the buses have those expensive intercoms and walkie talkies,so after an hour of calling all drivers they found her. But that hour was the most terrifying day of my life. hugz cassy Re: Jolie and lockdown & gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; & gt; The police had a suspect in that area so they contacted the school. Guest guest
Well, some times you just need to sleep... It's great to hear he was ok. Happyendings to stories like that are always a relief. I just read a notice in thepaper here with a story similar to that. A 3-year old was reported missing inUppsala (Sweden) yesterday afternoon. Three police patrols with dogs searchedfor the child, and the local crime hotline was involved in the search as well. Thesearch operation was called off, however, since the (then) relieved parents hadfound the boy in their own home. Behind the sofa. Sleeping soundly. No harmdone to him. I bet they felt a little sheepish for calling in "the whole cavalry" so tospeak, but I also bet that was nothing compared to the relief over finding the childok and at home. Another happy-ending story of a missing child was the one where a group ofpeople driving home from a party at late night/early morning spotted a young child, almost a toddler, 2-3 years old, walking on the highway. They stopped, of course, and asked the boy where he lived, but he didn't give them an intelligible answerto that. Not being able to drive him home they called the police, who managed toget enough information out of him to at least identify him, before he fell asleep inthe back of the police car. It turned out he had used a chair to reach the lock of thefront door, unlocked the door, and simply walked off in the middle of the night, without waking his parents. The explanation for his actions he gave the police officers as well as his parents wassimply: "just wanted to have a look at the downtown"...Well, kids...love/Reb> > Oh no! Guest guest
LOL.. yup.. I resemble that remark... Teachers and principals didn't enjoy seeing me come into their school.. and no.. I wasn't in there all the time... and I didn't go in because my kids got in trouble.. nope nope nope.. when they got themselves in trouble.. they got to take whatever punishment came with that.. I wasn't getting involved there.. but WHEN they get smacked in the face coming around a corner.. or when they are accused of exposing themselves on a school bus (that kid only ever took his socks off to take a bath.. AND he didn't let anyone ever see him in gutchies.. AND locked the bathroom door.. he wasn't exposing himself).. THEN.. they got to see me at the school.. I usually got justice for the boys as well.. Shoot.. my oldest told his guidance counselor that Roseanne Barr (from the show Roseanne).. got all her material from me.. LOL Guess the kids liked me huh?.... I'll never forget telling the kid from next door about the paper plate washer we had in the kitchen... and him LOOKING for it.. LOL.. till finally the oldest, his best friend, showed him the garbage can!... I'm bad bad bad... and Halloween is my favorite holiday.. it's the only day I get to freely break out my broom!!! Guest guest
I really don't know where the nieces and nephews & every one else decides that I'm the person to have on their side... though my mother used to tell people that she took me along cause I could tell people to go to hell, make them happy to be on their way as well.. and they didn't even know I'd done it.. Now it's very true (maybe it's where the nieces & nephews get it).. that I did threaten to take the electric limiter off the meter at the niece's house with a baseball bat if they didn't appear in 20 minutes to do it themselves.. but hey.. they wouldn't wait two days to get their freakin' money.. they put an amp limiter or something on her electric meter.. with two little kids in the house IN the middle of winter!!! I had to drive one and a half hours to get to her house to call the clowns on the phone cause they needed both of us present BEFORE they would take the payment over the phone from me.. And after I made the payment they had the nerve to tell me they'd be out to take it off sometime next week???.. nope.. I'd have taken the whole meter off the pole.. because waiting a week was unacceptable..every time her fridge kicked on.. the power went out.. and she'd have to reset the breaker.. work calls... I'll be back HUGS |)onna Breytenbach wrote: > > > Hey Donna > Can I ask you to come over with your broom and kick some major A & & > when someone messes with me again? Please???
