Kathleen,

I'm so sorry about your loss. I was told to wait 3 months to ttc

after I had my

miscarriage (by the peri). Although, I was only 5 weeks along so

maybe that is part of the reason for the different advice? Most

resources I had consulted said 2 - 3 months, in order to give time

for the body " to heal " and " re-prepare " .(Just FYI - it took us 7

years to get pregnant initially. After the m/c, it took 3 months of

ttc for the second pregnancy.)

I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

I go into my RE tomorrow to see the status of where things are.

Dear Kathleen,

I am so sorry for your loss.

Waiting 6 mos to ttc seems unusually long. It used to be an old rule

of thumb to wait 3 mos, however my ob/gyne told me that there is not

reason to wait that long and that I only needed to wait one month

before I could ttc after my m/c in 2001.

Ask him why he feels that you should wait so long, perhaps he will

change his mind if you speak to him about it. Being able to ttc

again can be very emotionally healing.

Hugs,

Sara

Kathleen,

I had a miscarriage with a t-shaped uterus at 11.5 weeks back in July, 2002.

We were cleared to ttc again less than a month later. I am SO sorry to

hear of your loss. There aren't many t-shaped women on this board, and I

feel a strong connection because we are plagued with the same anomaly. My

thoughts are with you.

Kathleen,

First let me say how sorry I am. I had a mc at 16 wks and my doctors told me to

wait at least three months before I ttc. I remember being slightly relieved when

I wasn't pregnant at three months, because I really felt that my body wasn't

ready. In the end I didn't get pregnant until six months after my mc and it

wasn't until that point that I felt like my body had really healed. Because my

mc was later than yours, I may have needed more time. I know it is hard to be

told to wait, especially after the immediate loss, but you want to insure that

you do everything necessary for a successful pregnancy. I wish you all the best.
