Hi a C.

It's good to have see other questions than those pertaining to our health issues.

My three boys were all potty trained around two. The oldest was out of diapers at 2.5 completely including night time. Kasper, our middle child was around 20 months old when he stopped using the diaper at day time, but night time was another story. He slept in a diaper until he was 4. Arek was two months short of his 2nd birthday when he started using the potty, and by two he was fully trained and he woke up at night as well.

All my kids had no problem sitting on a potty and there were no "fights" over it, however with my first, I sat down and peed in the potty to show him what it was meant for. I read it in one of the "smart" books. They said if the child doesn't have siblings and doesn't see any of them using the potty sometimes the easiest way to teach them is to show them and if one feels comfortable to just pee in it. I was just afraid the potty chair wouldn't be large enough for my pee. Then, the oldest showed the younger one and when it was Arek's time, he just watched his brothers go in the bathroom and sat on the potty, while they were using the toilet.

Anyway, all of them started off with sitting down on the potty. No particular reason for it, just that it was easier for us, I think. With time, they learned doing it standing up. I know parents though, who taught their boys to pee standing up right from the start. I don't think that matters, as long as he is most comfortable with it, however, they need to know around 3 or 4 years old that they should do it standing up.

Good luck.

potty training question :)

Okay guys,I have some potty training questions regarding Keyone. I was going to wait until he was two and a half, but he is getting his own diapers and wipes when he needs changed, telling me he is stinky, and getting up on the couch and then puts the diaper in the pail and waits for me to wash his hands. Do you think he is ready? Also, I know this sounds silly, but should we teach him to pee sitting or standing in the beginning? Sheesh I feel lost as all our other kids were way past this stage when we got them!a C "The LUPIES Store" Come check out our store...http://www.cafepress.com/thelupies"The LUPIES Web Page"http://www.itzarion.com/lupusgroup.html"The LUPIES online photo albums!" Now it would be great if I could think of something like that. Although I don't know if Keyone would buy that. He might have to go down the diaper aisle and check for himself.lol

one lady said that she told her son that they didn't make diapers for 3 year olds and he actually believed her and right before his birthday put on his big boy underwear, and was never wet again. lol. go figure. I wish that would work for me. Love, a

Hey, Moms, I trained my boys standing up, and I used Cheerios in the toilet as little life savers for

them to aim at. Worked like a charm. Hugs, MM

That's what I had heard. I think that is the way that we are going. I am also going to rough it and not use the pull ups.
