Guest guest
Hi. My son (age 3 and 3 weeks) had his heavy metals test done by Great Smokies. He came up high in many metals which I posted a few days ago and many people were generous enough to help me. We are redoing the test with Doctors Data. The kit is on the way. Any suggestions re: cutting the hair, etc? Should he be off supplements? Kate
Guest guest
My son uses his dad's dandruff shampoo occasionally. His selenium results were sky-high, which was a big change from his first hair test. Evidently dandruff shampoos will skewer selenium readings, so you might want to make sure that your child doesn't use these at all.

I got a 1st hair test from some-other-company and THEIR directions said to change shampoo a few days before and use ONLY shampoo on hair (I stopped using creme rinse, a bit sacrafice, LOL). They recommended using a simple shampoo, specifically J & J baby shampoo (which I bought!) Then, later I did a DDI test and they don't say anything about shampoos. > Should he be off supplements? no, it would take weeks or months to affect the hair. good wishes, Moria

The DDI hair test does have a place on the requisition form where they ask you to write in your shampoo.
